Kernel is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist

About the Role

Kernel is looking for our first Talent Acquisition Specialist to own the full recruitment life-cycle across all teams. You will work directly with our CEO and Head of Ops to source exceptional talent, build robust pipelines, and contribute broadly to our rapidly growing startup.

What You'll Do

  • Lead proactive sourcing, mapping potential candidates, and owning all outbound hiring activities across Engineering, Product, Data, Operations, and Sales teams.
  • Translate role specifications into a candidate assessment process and own our ATS and all job postings.
  • Manage candidate experience as the main point of contact throughout the interview process.
  • Own hiring metrics, including time-to-fill, quality of hire, diversity metrics, and satisfaction.
  • Enable talent acquisition by coaching interviewers, building scorecards, and laying the foundation for a broader team.
  • Own and build Kernel’s employer brand through content creation and attending relevant events.
  • Provide support on other operational and HR tasks during periods of lower recruitment needs.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment.
  • Strong sourcing skills and a deep understanding of the tech talent landscape in London.
  • Proven track record of hiring for high-performing teams and in-depth knowledge of the full recruitment process.
  • Experience running recruitment marketing campaigns and building employer brands.
  • Exceptional networking skills to build relationships with candidates and industry professionals.
  • Ability to analyze recruitment metrics and data to inform and improve hiring strategies.
  • Thorough experience with LinkedIn (ideally LinkedIn Recruiter) and ATS systems.
  • Comfort drafting and navigating employment contracts independently.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with fluency in English.

  • Startup or scale-up experience.

Team & Environment

You will be the first Talent Acquisition Specialist, reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Operations and working closely with the founder and CEO.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Base salary of £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
  • Equity via an option grant on employee-friendly terms.
  • Ability to work directly with the founding team.
  • Free dinner when working past 6 pm.
  • 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Ability to work abroad for 2 weeks per year.

Work Mode

This role is based in London and operates on a hybrid work model.
