About the Role

Arista Networks is hiring a Systems Engineer for a customer-facing technical sales role based in the Bay Area. You will act as a trusted advisor to new and existing customers in Northern California, gathering requirements and designing solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and total cost of ownership.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with Account Managers to understand client needs and conduct whiteboard network architectural designs.
  • Present Arista's Data Center Networking, Cognitive Campus, CloudVision (Network Automation), Security, Endpoint Security (NAC), and Real-time network observability solutions.
  • Apply expertise in network design, including leaf and spine architectures with overlay technologies like VxLAN and EVPN, to create scalable solutions.
  • Work with customers and the proof-of-concept team to validate Data Center and Campus network designs.
  • Provide design guidelines and work with Arista Professional Services to deliver recommendations and turn-key solutions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on RFP/RFQ responses and provide customer feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Represent Arista at SDN and other Open Networking industry events.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive solutions, and advancements in networking technology.
  • Author and collaborate on customer and sales-facing content covering Arista technology.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation, with a focus on Campus and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Expert-level experience with routing, switching, and .1x and NAC integrations.
  • Current hands-on experience designing campus and leaf-spine network architectures.
  • Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, .1x, and QoS.
  • Good understanding of competitor technology, specifically Cisco and Juniper.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the industry-standard Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Must be local to the Bay Area.

Nice to Have

  • Network Industry Certification, such as ACE-L4, ACE-L6, ACE-L7.
  • Experience with overlay technologies like EVPN/VxLAN.
  • Proven work as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer.
  • Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to create informative technology white papers.

  • Compensation range: $131,000 to $184,000 + equity.
