General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Systems Analyst to provide data analysis, reporting, and visualization support for a federal agency client in Washington, DC. You will be instrumental in managing data processes, creating impactful reports, and providing technical support to enable data-driven decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Provide data analysis reports for state-submitted data and on an ad hoc basis.
- Assist in preparing documents for data collection processes and budget documentation for agency leadership.
- Develop reports and dashboards in Tableau Desktop for multiple agency divisions.
- Develop and implement automated data preparation, cleaning, and blending processes using Tableau Prep and R.
- Assist with administration of the Tableau Server, including managing Sites, Projects, Groups, Users, permissions, and publishing content.
- Perform big data mining, cleaning, and manipulation using SQL and R to deliver statistical analyses and visualizations.
- Extract data weekly for reports and publish to the Tableau Server.
- Create documentation, presentations, and governance processes.
- Provide ongoing training to data and systems analysts on developing Tableau worksheets and dashboards.
- Assist analysts with data preparation for use in Tableau.
- Work with Tableau technical support to troubleshoot server and desktop issues.
- Translate business requirements into effective visualizations and data models.
- Provide technical support to contractors and federal staff within scope.
- Manage the Tableau user group and provide technical assistance.
- Support data collection, analysis, and visualization projects, including data modeling and database creation.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS degree in a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in database administration and data analysis.
- Experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in a government agency.
- Expert user of Tableau, SQL, and MS Office (Excel).
- Experience with data mining, cleaning, and manipulating using SQL and R.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated and collaborative team player.
- Existing Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated knowledge of and/or certification in data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and/or certification in scripting languages like Python, R, or Matlab.
- Understanding of Gitlab CI/CD pipeline.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools.
