The Product Solutions Division is looking for a System Technical Lead to join its team in Huntsville, AL. This position plays a central role in shaping the technical direction of RF-based systems for defense and Department of Defense programs. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture, analysis, and integration of radar and communication technologies, ensuring alignment with mission-critical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop system architectures for radar applications based on customer and operational needs
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system performance or reduce lifecycle costs
- Lead internal research and development initiatives to advance new capabilities
- Support hardware testing, technical reviews, and product demonstrations
- Prepare technical documentation, including white papers and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Guide test planning and verification strategies for production-level system validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across systems, software, firmware, and hardware disciplines
- Review government and industry solicitations to assess feasibility and alignment with existing capabilities
- Provide technical leadership across proposal development, program execution, and product lifecycle management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 12 years of experience in RF system design, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years in defense-related engineering
- Proven expertise in one or more of the following: military system development, digital signal processing for radar and communications, RF subsystem design, field testing, or defense electronics manufacturing
- Demonstrated leadership in technical programs and complex system integration
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management abilities
- Eligibility to obtain and retain a SECRET DoD security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Experience
- Background in proximity or seeker fuze systems within a defense product environment
- Direct experience with missiles, rockets, or gun-launched munitions
- Design experience with FMCW or pulsed radar systems
- Involvement in concept development through verification testing phases
Technical Areas
RF sensors, radar systems (FMCW and pulsed), antenna design, digital signal processing, electronic warfare, communication systems, unmanned RF payloads, tactical data links, seeker and proximity sensors, height-of-burst systems, and integration on gun-launched platforms.
