Convatec is hiring a System Owner / Technical Lead MES to oversee the full lifecycle of our manufacturing execution systems. This role balances technical expertise with strategic vision to optimize manufacturing processes and maintain system integrity.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve MES applications and systems.
- Collaborate with production managers, engineers, and IT staff to define requirements and design manufacturing solutions.
- Orchestrate clean, efficient, and maintainable code for MES systems, adhering to best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing MES systems to ensure optimal manufacturing operations.
- Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle for manufacturing systems, from concept to maintenance.
- Stay updated with emerging MES technologies and apply them to improve systems and processes.
- Work with QA teams to ensure MES applications meet manufacturing standards.
- Assist in task estimation, identify manufacturing process roadblocks, and propose solutions.
- Optimize MES systems for speed, scalability, and compliance across production facilities.
What We're Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of experience in IT Systems operations, with a focus on regulatory and Quality Solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with Delmia Apriso or Critical Manufacturing (CMF).
- Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) in manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of MES principles and software engineering patterns.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Github) for manufacturing software development.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for complex manufacturing challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with production teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for manufacturing software.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and how MES integrates with other enterprise systems (ERP, PLM).
- A Master's / Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- English language proficiency.
Nice to Have
- Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- ITIL 4, Prince 2, or GMP is a plus.
- Portuguese or Spanish language skills are a plus.
