The City of Myrtle Beach, SC, is hiring a part-time Swimming Instructor to ensure safety and provide high-quality aquatic education at our public pools. In this role, you'll directly contribute to community health and recreation by teaching essential swimming skills.
What You'll Do
- Instruct swimming lessons, coach recreational swim teams, and/or lead water exercise classes
- Teach a variety of aquatic skills, including floating, stroke technique, and endurance building
- Provide information to individuals regarding pool policies, procedures, programs, and fees
- Respond to questions and complaints, initiating problem resolution
- Check in class participants and maintain attendance records
- Manage inventories of supplies, forms, and equipment; initiate requests for needed materials
- Prepare and complete various forms, reports, and chemical logs
- Communicate with supervisors, city staff, and the public to coordinate work activities and exchange information
- Maintain professional knowledge by reading literature, attending workshops, and completing required in-service trainings
- Maintain all required certifications and swimming skills
- Perform other related duties as required, requested, and assigned
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must possess and maintain Water Safety Instructor, CPR, and First Aid certifications

This part-time role is an onsite position located in Myrtle Beach, SC.
