Bechtel, a leader in Engineering, Construction, Procurement & Project Management, is seeking a Surveyor to provide crucial technical support for our construction projects. You will administer the survey work request program, ensure the accuracy of construction layouts and data, and support field operations by calibrating instruments and performing field scans.
What You'll Do
- Support the survey team’s implementation of project safety, quality, and environmental programs.
- Provide technical survey support to Field Engineering and Superintendents.
- Establish, verify, and maintain the project’s survey control network.
- Support the administration of the survey work request program.
- Oversee Civil project completion documentation including 'As-Built' records.
- Check the accurate layout of construction work, record field data, and ensure appropriate survey methods.
- Provide oversight for Calibration Baseline checks of survey instruments.
- Provide laser scanning support.
- Establish and maintain Dimensional Control (DC) as required.
- Perform field scans and reality capture surveys.
What We're Looking For
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- Multi-disciplined Field Engineering Survey experience with earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, mechanical, and piping installation layout and verification.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s 'Zero Incidents' safety program and quality standards with a record of successful project completion.
- Knowledge of construction survey principles.
- Demonstrated ability to always maintain a safe work ethic and work environment.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment and build relationships with team members, other departments, and contractors.
- Effective communication skills crucial to understanding instructions and plans clearly.
- Experience with Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels & GNSS survey systems, and Access field software.
- Must be physically capable to participate in project walkdowns, which may require extensive walking, climbing, maneuvering in confined spaces, and lifting up to 40lbs.
Nice to Have
- CAD literate; experience with CAD software is a plus.
- Experience providing survey support for UAV/Drone operations.
- Experience with 3D Laser Scanning hardware and software.
- Experience with Metrology field and office activities.
