Surgery Partners is looking for a Surgical Tech to join our team. In this role, you will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses, serving as a key member of the operating room team.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures.
- Set up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions before an operation.
- Follow hospital regulations and procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation.
- Perform pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body, and equipment.
- Assemble, adjust, and check sterile and non-sterile equipment to ensure proper function.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
- Transport patients to the operating room, help position them, and apply sterile drapes.
- Observe vital signs, check charts, and assist the surgical team with gowning and gloving.
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and assistants.
- Hold retractors, cut sutures, and assist in counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
- Help prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens for lab analysis and apply dressings.
- Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and assist with diagnostic equipment.
- After an operation, help transfer patients to recovery and clean and restock the operating room.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Must be certified to perform CPR.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
Team & Environment
You will be a member of operating room teams, which most commonly include surgeons, anesthesiologists, and circulating nurses. You will report to a Physician and/or Registered Nurse.
