nVent is hiring a Supply Lead Engineer (Electrical & Electronics) to play a pivotal role in our supply chain strategy. You will ensure new supplier development with cost-effective E&E components and systematically resolve supplier-related issues, building a world-class supply chain for Make in India and global markets.
What You'll Do
- Develop a world-class supply chain for Make in India and Global markets.
- Conduct break-down analysis, including TCO & should cost modeling of manufactured components.
- Identify and develop alternate vendor sources for localization to achieve cost-effective purchases, reduce delivery time, and improve quality consistency.
- Develop and educate suppliers on performance measurements and principles of continuous improvement consistent with nVent's Quality Leadership principles.
- Partner with Supplier Quality in the supplier selection process and participate in supplier audits as needed.
- Lead negotiations to achieve great outcomes in terms of cost and service guarantees, and develop strategies for balanced supplier relationships.
- Assess supplier strengths and competitive positioning by analyzing industry cost models.
- Assist in implementing supplier agreements and contracts by working with collaborators and suppliers.
- Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues and opportunities.
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships through trade shows, meetings, and conferences.
- Coordinate with multiple departments for projects and parts development as a teammate.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma / Bachelor of Engineering (BE / B. Tech) in Electrical, Electronics, or E&TC.
- 6 or more years of work experience in manufacturing areas, including supplier development, costing, supplier audits, and cost negotiation for PCBA, outlets, and wire harnesses.
- Competent knowledge of sourcing commodities in Electrical and Electronics parts like PCBA, outlets, and wire harness development.
- Proven experience in Wiring Harness Integration, System Integration, Smart Power & Data solutions.
- Proficient analytical skills for making sourcing decisions.
- Knowledge of the NPD cycle, PPAP, APQP, Value Engineering, and localization.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA as an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015, IPC610 & IPC/WHMA-A-620 Training/Certification is an added advantage.
