Duke University is seeking a Supply Chain Associate to join our team. In this role, you will perform critical duties in computerized order entry, distribution, and inventory management to support hospital operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the prompt delivery of supplies, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting a clean, efficient supply chain environment.
What You'll Do
- Distribute and restock supplies and/or linen to end-users.
- Use Supply Chain technologies like Pyxis and SAP to document the movement of supplies.
- Perform regular cycle counts and check expiration dates on products.
- Accept, inspect, and document incoming shipments, entering Goods Receipts into SAP.
- Report shipment discrepancies and prepare vendor returns.
- Move, stock, and transport supplies from loading docks to final destinations.
- Deliver non-supply items like medical gas and linen in a timely manner.
- Participate in mid-year and year-end inventory counts.
- Ensure all STAT orders meet specified service level agreements.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with clinical staff.
- Maintain clean and organized Supply Chain work and storage areas.
- Proactively recommend operational efficiency improvements.
- Act as a mentor to Level 1 associates and serve as a back-up Team Lead.
- Deliver and manage supplies to off-site clinics as needed.
- Manage inventory, oversee consignment processes, and assist with annual inventory.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to adjust PAR levels and address slow-moving items.
- Troubleshoot supply shortage issues and articulate their impact.
- Use the ERP system to pull reports, find products, and close out daily transactions.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the TIMS module.
- Pull and analyze EPIC and Pyxis reports to provide recommendations.
- Participate in PERT, OR EDIT, and VAT discussions as assigned.
- Utilize Vendormate for vendor management as assigned.
- Work with customers to help reconcile invoices as needed.
- Complete all assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Be cross-trained and perform other Supply Chain-related responsibilities when needed.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Level 1: At least one year of work experience in distribution, warehousing, shipping, receiving, logistics, material handling, customer service, inventory control, or a comparable service line.
- Level 2: At least two years of work experience in the areas listed above.
- A valid Driver's License may be required.
- Ability to work cooperatively, communicate professionally to achieve team goals, respond to customer needs, and work effectively in a computerized environment.
Nice to Have
- Some college-level coursework.
- For Level 1, experience in a fast-paced, customer-service environment is strongly preferred.
