About the Role

This remote position supports the scheduling of advanced oncology treatments within a leading academic medical center. The scheduler plays a key role in connecting patients with critical care by coordinating appointment logistics, confirming treatment timelines, and maintaining accurate records across systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange complex oncology appointments with precision, aligning with physician directives and facility requirements
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance details to ensure accurate scheduling
  • Respond to incoming calls and proactively contact patients to confirm preparation steps and appointment times
  • Use multiple software platforms to manage scheduling across various treatment modalities and locations
  • Review prior imaging reports alongside current orders to support clinical accuracy
  • Educate patients on pre-appointment requirements and address questions about procedures
  • Coordinate lab work, premedication needs, or special instructions when required
  • Maintain compliance with institutional policies and protect sensitive patient data

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and bring at least two years of experience in a healthcare scheduling or related administrative role. Familiarity with medical terminology and scheduling systems is essential.
