General Motors is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer Remote (Reynosa)

About the Role

General Motors is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to serve as the primary technical liaison between GM purchasing, product engineering, manufacturing, and our supply base. In this remote role based in Reynosa, you will ensure supplier quality and resolve issues from launch through ongoing production.

What You'll Do

  • Assure supplier understanding and compliance with APQP processes and product PPAP submission and approval requirements.
  • Review and approve supplier quality plans, including Control Plans and PFMEA, for new components and assemblies.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems to ensure they meet GM standards.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
  • Implement and monitor supplier part qualification and certification processes, including PPAP and Run at Rate.
  • Improve supplier quality performance by conducting onsite workshops and providing technical assistance to develop robust quality systems.
  • Provide technical support during supplier launch, change-over, and ongoing production activities.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, Welding, Plastics, Materials, Chemical preferred) or an equivalent Technical Degree such as Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality, engineering, and/or manufacturing.
  • Direct experience with APQP Processes.
  • Experience with injection molding, painting, and plating processes.
  • Proficient in print reading and interpretation, part measurement, and gage design and function.
  • Knowledge of geometric design and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, tooling, equipment, and facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to develop potential solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead diverse cross-functional teams simultaneously.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
