McLaren Central Michigan is hiring a Supervisor, Security to lead and coordinate the work of employees dedicated to maintaining the safety of people and facilities. This role provides input into department policies and helps meet business, financial, service quality, and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of security staff.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing security services, identifying and allocating resources.
- Accomplish human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining employees.
- Contribute security and safety information to strategic plans, implement quality and customer-service standards, and resolve problems.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of the security budget, monitor expenditures, and identify variances.
- Monitor and control supplies and equipment, ordering supplies and tools as necessary.
- Improve the function and reliability of security systems by studying performance results and implementing changes.
- Perform technical and complex tasks of the work unit as needed.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal codes.
- Stay current on technology, industry trends, and state and federal regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in criminal justice, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Completion of International Association of Hospital Security and Safety Basic Security Officer and Supervisory and Safety training certification programs within the first year of employment.
- One year of security experience in a healthcare facility.
- Four years of increasingly responsible security experience, including some lead or supervisory experience.
- Criminal free record.
- Valid state driver’s license that meets the company’s insurance requirements.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security administration, or a related field.
- Three years of progressive supervisory experience in a health care environment.

This is an onsite position located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
