Nord Anglia Education is hiring a Substitute Teacher for The Village School, our private college preparatory school in Houston, Texas. The school serves grades from Early Childhood through High School, including IB Diploma and boarding programs. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a professional, learning-focused classroom environment.
What You'll Do
- Act as a professional teammate, working productively and respectfully with colleagues.
- Maintain a learning-focused classroom culture based on high expectations, routines, and mutual respect.
- Plan for learning challenges by being knowledgeable about the subject matter and the students.
- Provide appropriate scaffolding, support, guided practice, and feedback for all ability levels.
- Include opportunities for students to explain, discuss, explore, reflect, and solve problems to encourage critical and creative thinking.
- Be flexible and responsive to student needs by using formative assessment to check for understanding and adjust instruction.
- Accurately measure and report student attainment using collaboratively developed assessments.
- Seek to continually improve through coaching and professional development opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience in any field of study.
- Experience working with one of the following grade levels: Pre-K, Elementary, Middle, or High School.
