Join AECOM as a Substation Electrical Engineer within our Transmission & Distribution team. You will design and develop High Voltage Substations up to 500kV, collaborating with a global team of technical professionals to deliver complex projects.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the design and development of High Voltage Substations (up to 500kV) across various project stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Civil and Structural engineers, designers, and project managers.
- Perform modeling and CAD activities in Autocad, Revit, and Microstation based on guidance from senior engineers.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports in line with project requirements and industry standards (IEC/IEEE/ANSI/AS).
- Apply knowledge of MV and HV systems, including Substation Equipment, Fittings, and Assemblies for HV conductors.
- Produce drawings for all project stages: Single Line Diagrams, HV/MV Equipment Layouts, Cable sizing and routing, and Earthing and Lightning Layouts.
- Stay current on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Support senior engineers in project development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Power Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Transmission & Distribution Substation design.
- Strong knowledge of Autocad 2D and 3D software.
- Good knowledge of Revit and BIM360.
- Advanced English language skills.
Nice to Have
- Good knowledge of Bentley Microstation software.
- Advanced level in Revit.
- Knowledge of ETAP and other 3D software.
- Practical experience with international clients and involvement in international substation projects (22kV up to 500kV) in Romania and abroad.
- Strong people and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with project team members.
