Tetra Tech is adding a Structural Engineering Technologist to our Power team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting structural design for hydro, substations, renewable energy infrastructure, and industrial facilities. This position can be performed anywhere in Canada.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the preparation of structural designs, drawings, and specifications for hydro, renewables, substations, transmission lines, and industrial structures.
- Produce complex and complete Structural Engineering 2D design drawings and 3D models for buildings, structures, and foundations with a high degree of technical accuracy.
- Perform work according to established drafting standards, practices, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems.
- Ensure that designs incorporate sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting and/or an Energy environment.
- Experience with Civil/Structural engineering design and related disciplines.
- Detail oriented with the ability to remain focused.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and client interactions.
Nice to Have
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation.
