Instacart is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to join our Retailer and Consumer pillar. In this role, you will be responsible for the monthly revenue forecasting for our retailer and consumer businesses, representing billions of dollars annually. You will partner across the company to drive clarity, inform decisions, and surface trends and opportunities that shape our growth.
What You'll Do
- Own monthly retailer and consumer revenue forecasting end-to-end, building and maintaining driver-based models that tie to business performance and operational levers.
- Run monthly and quarterly variance analysis against forecast and plan; translate complex trends into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Develop executive-ready materials for the board and C-suite, including narrative memos, dashboards, and scenario analyses that inform strategic priorities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Business Development, Product, Data Science, and Accounting to align on assumptions, improve data quality, and operationalize insights.
- Lead proactive deep dives on revenue and unit economics to identify growth opportunities, risks, and experiments that improve accuracy and business outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in investment banking, strategic finance/FP&A, or management consulting supporting high-growth technology or marketplace businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including building driver-based financial models, scenario/sensitivity analyses, and revenue forecasting.
- Proven experience owning monthly forecasting and variance analysis for complex P&L components, with a track record of improving forecast accuracy.
- Experience preparing and presenting executive-ready materials to VP/C-suite stakeholders, with the ability to distill complex data into clear business narratives.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a two-sided marketplace or consumer internet business (e.g., on-demand, e-commerce, advertising, or subscription models).
- Proficiency with SQL for self-serve data analysis; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) a plus.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Data Science to define metrics, align on assumptions, and evaluate experiments.
- Background creating materials for board meetings and quarterly business reviews in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP revenue concepts relevant to marketplaces and consumer businesses.

You will join a 10-person team as part of the Strategic Finance team within the Retailer and Consumer pillar, reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation varies by location: CA, NY, CT, NJ: $176,000-$185,500 USD; WA: $168,000-$177,500 USD; OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $161,000-$170,000 USD; All other states: $147,000-$155,000 USD.
- Eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants.
