AkzoNobel is hiring a Stores Financial Controller to be the key finance business partner for the Sikkens Solutions store network in France. You will be a central figure in steering the network's performance, ensuring profitable and controlled growth as the recognized expert for store financial management.
What You'll Do
- Act as a finance business partner for several departments within the Stores France network.
- Contribute to and/or lead cross-functional EMEA (Stores Pool) projects assigned based on value and risk.
- Collaborate with French Finance teams, the CU South-Central Europe team, and EMEA Stores Pool members to deliver regional objectives.
- Validate and challenge business cases in cooperation with stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Real Estate, FP&A, etc.).
- Identify, assess, and track financial risks and opportunities, communicate impacts, and implement associated action plans.
- Analyze existing practices and improve process efficiency (France & EMEA) by promoting standardization, harmonization, and simplification of Stores Finance activities.
- Work closely with other Finance pillars to ensure alignment with the Target Operating Model.
- Prioritize tactical and strategic projects contributing to Market Share, Sales, Profitability, and OWC (inventory and suppliers) goals.
- Act as the first line of defense on controls, with a strong focus on cash flow and working capital.
- Be accountable for the approval matrix and controls (financial controls / ER/P) for the Stores perimeter.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Finance/Accounting.
- Approximately 5 years or more of experience in finance.
- Solid finance foundation with proximity to Accounting and FP&A.
- A results-oriented business partner profile, recognized as an expert by both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Fluent French and English (spoken and written).
- Ability to build strong relationships and manage priorities, expectations, and deadlines.
- Strong data analysis and manipulation skills to produce insights and scenario models.
- Aptitude for extracting information from systems (e.g., SAP, SAP BI, D365).
- A "big picture" vision while being detail-oriented; structured mindset and ability to challenge assumptions.
- Clear communication and presentation skills at different organizational levels.
Nice to Have
- Ideally an Executive Master of Finance & Control (Certified Controller), CMA/CIMA, or MBA.
- Experience in a retail environment is valued.
