The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) is seeking a Standards Manager to play a central role in managing the development and strengthening of the RSB standards and related tools that constitute our sustainability framework. You will ensure our suite of documents upholds RSB's reputation for consistency and clarity while providing technical interpretation to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Manage RSB’s standards development processes to maintain a robust and updated suite of scheme documentation and tools.
- Improve the accessibility and user-friendliness of RSB’s standards and related documents through language and visual re-design.
- Manage standard, procedure, and guidance modifications, amendments, reviews, and updates in line with RSB’s standards workplan.
- Conduct technical analysis, benchmarks, and recognition activities.
- Administer RSB’s Greenhouse Gas Calculator tool, answering client requests and questions.
- Maintain RSB’s recognition of the ISEAL Standard-Setting Code of Good Practice.
- Support in coordinating the RSB’s multistakeholder General Standards Working Group.
- Support RSB’s standards communications via web and text publications.
- Interact with stakeholders across aviation, chemicals and polymers, textiles and apparel, and other sectors.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a standard-setting or certification system environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (sustainability, environmental sciences, engineering, etc).
- Solid understanding of the bioenergy, biofuels, and biomaterials sector.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to explain complex topics to varied audiences.
- Strong writing skills for both technical and general subjects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Solid understanding of concepts such as mass balance, GHG, and other sustainability topics.
- Passion for sustainability and the biocircular economy.
- Proactive, efficient, and able to work calmly under pressure.
- Comfortable working remotely from a home office.
- Ability to collaborate with a multicultural and virtual team.
- Flexible and committed to continuous learning in an agile environment.
- Willingness to travel on occasion as required.
Nice to Have
- Professional experience specifically in the bioenergy, biofuels, and biomaterials sector.
- Professional experience using GHG calculation tools.
- Professional experience with certification and auditing systems.
