Future Publishing is hiring a Staff Writer, AI for Tom's Guide. You'll lead daily coverage and analysis of artificial intelligence, assist with the broader Computing channel, and create news, features, reviews, and tutorials focused on consumer-facing AI developments.
What You'll Do
- Write news and features on the latest AI developments for an international audience.
- Produce features and opinions on consumer-facing AI features across desktop and mobile.
- Review the latest consumer-facing AI tools each month, focusing on chatbots and image/video generation.
- Maintain and update critical buying guides and evergreen hubs on topics like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Apple Intelligence, and Microsoft CoPilot.
- Author tutorial content to help readers find the best AI solutions.
- Write news, reviews, and feature content on wider computing products.
- Brainstorm thoughtful AI analysis and opinion coverage.
- Help with deals coverage during critical shopping seasons like Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day.
- Track performance of AI coverage and respond to traffic trends.
- Potentially perform on-camera work for YouTube and TikTok channels.
- Attend events, briefings, and conduct interviews with AI experts.
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience at an online media outlet.
- A desire to create AI content, keeping informed about industry developments and trends.
- Experience researching SEO trends and analyzing traffic.
- Experience collaborating across teams.
- Experience promoting stories by cross-linking and through social media.
Nice to Have
- Established industry contacts are a major plus.
Team & Environment
You will report to the Editor, AI and work collaboratively with a UK-based AI editor.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $62,000 - $67,000
