Title: Staff Software Engineer Responsibilities: The Staff Software Engineer at Earnest LLC in Oakland, CA will spearhead technological strategy and implementation for engineering teams. Guide development of a robust, high-performance lending infrastructure from initial customer engagement through transaction completion. Construct customer-focused financial solutions, ensuring seamless user experiences and managing complex financial transactions. Establish technical vision and performance standards for a dynamic engineering team. Advance architectural strategies enhancing platform scalability, dependability, and operational efficiency. Collaborate across Product, UX, and Business domains to synchronize technological approaches with organizational objectives. Design, implement, and maintain customer-interfacing lending applications utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, React/Redux, Angular, Sequelize, PostgreSQL, and Docker. Develop and refine premium, testable code, implementing comprehensive unit and integration testing via Mocha, Chai, Sinon, and Sequelize. Guarantee performance, security, and scalability through elite software engineering methodologies. Diagnose and resolve system irregularities through debugging, performance profiling, logging, analytical examination, tracing, and FullStory session analysis. Supervise code deployment across Staging and Production environments. Collaborate with Quality Engineers to address testing discoveries and enhance automated testing coverage. Direct and participate in Agile methodological practices. Translate product requirements into executable engineering tasks within Jira. Critically evaluate Product Requirements Documents, Epics, and User Stories, influencing technical and business strategic trajectories. Propose alternative technological solutions optimizing delivery speed, enhancing customer experiences, and minimizing operational costs. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation. Contribute to Earnest's DevOps culture and participate in rotating production application support. Position offers 100% remote work. Salary: $207,585 annually. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related discipline, with 3 years software development experience. Required experience must encompass: (1) constructing extensively distributed microservices; (2) SQL database management, including PostgreSQL, with expertise in caching, performance optimization, monitoring, and scalability; (3) server-side technologies like Node.js, Typescript, and Javascript; (4) client-side technologies including React Native and Angular. Minimum two years experience with AWS or equivalent cloud infrastructure; leading architectural design, development, and deployment of large-scale projects. Compensation Philosophy: We prioritize equitable employee remuneration.
