Join Engine as a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure, where you will be a strategic leader defining the long-term vision and architectural strategy for the platform that powers our entire engineering organization. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape our infrastructure to transform business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple.

What You'll Do

Define and drive the multi-year roadmap for the cloud infrastructure platform, making high-stakes, strategic decisions around performance, cost, and maintainability.
Architect and lead the implementation of our strategic Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platform.
Own and drive the evolution of the organization's deployment ecosystem, setting the standard for secure, reliable, and high-velocity enterprise-wide deployment strategy.
Define the company's observability strategy (SLOs/SLIs) and lead major, cross-functional incident response efforts.
Architect and own the core platform capabilities and system-level contracts that unlock significant self-service capabilities for all product engineering teams.
Set the technical standards and best practices for infrastructure engineering across the organization. Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to Senior and Principal engineers.
Partner with Security and Compliance leadership to integrate advanced security controls and policy enforcement mechanisms at the architectural layer.

What We're Looking For

8+ years of high-impact experience in DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure roles.
Proven history of designing and operating large-scale, multi-account production systems on AWS.
Deep expertise in system-level programming and architectural design in languages such as Go or Python.
Proven track record of owning critical outcomes end-to-end across multiple functions and driving results with multi-departmental impact.
Ability to think strategically across functions, connecting technology decisions to company objectives.
Expert-level knowledge of IaC (Terraform strongly preferred).
Hands-on experience designing and operating container orchestration systems (Kubernetes/EKS).
Demonstrated experience serving as a trusted technical advisor and driving change on cross-functional initiatives across a large group of stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Experience developing and evangelizing an Infrastructure as a Product (IaaP) or Internal Developer Platform (IDP) strategy.
Expertise in advanced cloud networking, Cloudflare, security primitives, and compliance frameworks.
Prior experience contributing to company strategy through innovative and effective solutions.

Benefits & Compensation

$137,300 - $190,000 USD base pay tied to role and experience, with opportunities for bonuses, commissions, and equity.
