Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and implementation of a high-performance connectors framework
- Design APIs and abstractions that simplify integration with third-party data sources
- Optimize data ingestion pipelines for scalability and fault tolerance
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define connector requirements
- Ensure consistent security and authentication practices across all connectors
- Mentor engineers in best practices for distributed systems and API design
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in data transfer operations
- Drive testing and monitoring strategies for connector reliability
- Evaluate new technologies to improve framework capabilities
- Maintain backward compatibility while introducing new features
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go
- Experience building data integration or ETL frameworks
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Proven ability to debug complex distributed systems
- Knowledge of authentication protocols including OAuth and API keys
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data serialization formats like JSON, Avro, or Protobuf
- Background in observability and metrics collection
- Contributions to open-source data engineering projects
- Prior work with data governance or metadata management systems
