SanDisk is looking for a Staff Engineer, Systems Design Engineering to join our team. This role focuses on system architecture, firmware, and hardware design within the storage domain, delivering high-quality products with an execution-focused mindset.
What You'll Do
- Understand PCB board layouts, schematics, and active/passive components.
- Perform BOM analysis and prepare detailed reports.
- Conduct debugging and failure analysis using tools like protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Perform power analysis and reverse engineer power tree distribution.
- Execute system-level activities for hardware design and validation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in system architecture, firmware design, and hardware design in the storage domain.
- Excellent debugging and failure analysis skills with exposure to protocol analyzers, logical analyzers, and CROs.
- Strong power analysis and power tree distribution reverse engineering skills.
- Proven experience in system-level activities for hardware design and validation.
- An execution-focused mindset with a zeal to learn and take initiative.
- Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
- A good team player with a proactive, to-do attitude.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the Storage Domain.
- Knowledge of PCB construction and assembly details.
- Experience working with Flash memory technologies and internals.
- Experience in NVMe, SD/uSD, USB, or PCIE protocols.
