SanDisk is hiring an Engineer, Customer Firmware Engineering to join a firmware development team focused on customer engineering. You will develop, debug, validate, and optimize storage firmware on embedded multi-core architectures and support customer design-in and qualification of SanDisk SSDs.
What You'll Do
- Develop, debug, validate, and optimize storage firmware on embedded multi-core architectures.
- Support customer design-in and qualification of SanDisk SSDs.
- Design, implement, and integrate critical firmware components for SSD products.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and fix issues discovered by internal test teams or by customer use of the products.
- Represent the Customer Engineering team in one or more multi-disciplined engineering core teams.
- Design and develop Proof of Concepts prototype firmware in collaboration with customers or ecosystem partners, to enable sandbox testing of new technologies for next-generation SSDs.
- Occasionally have calls with FAE/Account Team and customers to present technical details.
- Travel (when possible) to customer sites for debugging of critical issues.
- Make contributions immediately impacting SanDisk’s success in a fast-paced environment.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer/Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Familiarity with SW algorithm development.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with cross-functional and cross-cultural global teams.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of NVMe/PCIe Protocol Interface.
- Knowledge of the Agile software development process life cycle.
- Knowledge of Windows / Linux / Chrome PC architecture and ecosystem.
