Role Overview
This position leads technical efforts in validating and improving integrated circuit applications through close collaboration with design, systems, firmware, and test teams. The engineer will interpret customer feedback and field data to influence product enhancements and guide best practices in hardware implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer schematics and PCB layouts to ensure compliance with signal and power integrity principles, including impedance control, return path management, and reference plane design.
- Lead board-level bring-up and validation using advanced test equipment such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers, producing detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
- Support customers remotely or on-site in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware issues involving high-speed interfaces.
- Develop comprehensive application resources, including reference designs, layout guidelines, checklists, characterization reports, and training content.
- Engage in industry events and deliver technical training to field application engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in hardware design, applications engineering, or system validation.
- Strong grasp of high-speed SerDes behavior, including channel loss, reflections, jitter, equalization, and clocking strategies.
- Proven work with multi-gigabit serial interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB3.x, USB4, or custom high-speed links.
- Experience with SI/PI simulation tools, S-parameter analysis, and correlation between simulation and measurement data.
- Proficiency operating lab instruments including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, BERT, and logic analyzers.
- Expertise in high-speed PCB design practices: stack-up planning, differential signaling, decoupling, and power delivery networks.
- Clear and effective communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to collaborate across global teams spanning engineering, marketing, and field support functions.
