Responsibilities
- Serve as the organization’s foremost expert in Ruby on Rails, bringing the latest best practices, patterns, and innovations to our core web platform.
- Define and drive the technical architecture for our web platform, focusing on modularity, scalability, and maintainability using modern Rails patterns and tools.
- Identify opportunities to evolve our platform architecture, leveraging the latest Rails features, gems, and community standards to improve developer experience and system performance.
- Partner closely with domain teams to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure seamless integration of new features and improvements.
- Establish and promote guidelines for high-quality, maintainable Rails code, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Mentor engineers across the organization, lead technical discussions, and create training materials to elevate Rails expertise company-wide.
- Act as a key liaison between platform and domain teams, facilitating clear communication, driving consensus, and ensuring alignment on technical direction.
- Stay current with the Ruby on Rails ecosystem, proactively introducing new tools, techniques, and patterns to keep our platform at the forefront of modern web development.
