About the Role
As a Senior UX Designer, you will apply UX principles to user-centered research, analysis, design, and development. You will work independently and as part of a team to lead tasks, support junior engineers, and create highly effective solutions, including digital products, physical products, and work systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform user-centered research and usability testing.
- Develop user flows, wireframes, visual styles, interaction designs, and UI components.
- Apply user-centered design processes to assess existing systems and contribute to new designs.
- Clearly communicate design processes and findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Select, implement, and support team members in using tools and standards such as the System Usability Scale (SUS) and UI style guides.
- Supervise junior personnel in specific tasks, demonstrating an understanding of how various tasks and team member roles contribute to overall project success.
- Manage complex tasks independently and collaborate with peers to achieve project objectives.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather user requirements and understand design needs, and analyze user interaction data to inform design decisions.
- Create and maintain design mockups, prototypes, style guides, and design documentation.
- Conduct design reviews, facilitating the exchange of constructive feedback.
- Promote a collaborative and user-centric approach within the team, encouraging knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Advocate for User-Centered Design processes and mentor junior researchers.
- Participate in proposals and capture efforts.
Requirements
- Must possess US DoD Security Clearance.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Have 5+ years of experience in a UX/HFE environment.
- Be proficient with design tools such as Adobe CC (especially XD), Figma, Axure, Sketch, etc.
- Demonstrate a commitment to understanding and advocating for the needs and preferences of end users across a program.
- Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex human factors findings and recommendations to a wide range of audiences.
- Show developing leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to foster a culture of user-centric design and knowledge sharing.
