CVS Health is seeking a Sr Software Development Engineer - AS400/IBMi to join our Client Data Exchange Solutions (CDES) team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and developing complex software solutions for the RxClaim application on the AS/400 platform. You will lead modernization efforts and provide technical guidance, helping to transform health care.
What You'll Do
- Provide solutions and design complex functionality within the RxClaim application (CDES area).
- Help define standards, methodologies, and guidelines, ensuring compliance while aligning solutions to the RxClaim application architecture.
- Lead modernization efforts for IBMi systems, including automation and integration with cloud platforms like Azure and GCP.
- Leverage internal development tools and CI/CD processes.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and influence best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience and a deep understanding of AS/400 application development.
- 5+ years of application development experience in RPG, RPGLE and CL; Synon2/E (aka COOL 2/E).
- 5+ years of IBMi SQL experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading application teams to deliver technical improvements and initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with RxClaim or similar pharmacy claim adjudication systems.
- Background in Healthcare or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).
- Experience in legacy system modernization.
- Familiarity with IBMi integration with cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated successful completion of several medium to large scope projects; proficiency working on all phases of SDLC and with problem determination and resolution through research and fact finding.
