About the Role

This role involves leading regulatory strategy for a next-generation satellite broadband network, focusing on spectrum access, orbital coordination, and international compliance to enable global service deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of regulatory strategies for satellite spectrum and orbital filings
  • Represent the company in international forums including the International Telecommunication Union
  • Coordinate with technical teams to align policy positions with system design
  • Engage with government agencies on spectrum coordination matters
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory proceedings affecting satellite operations
  • Advocate for favorable regulatory treatment in key markets
  • Prepare filings for national and international regulatory bodies
  • Analyze proposed regulatory changes and assess potential impacts
  • Support licensing efforts for satellite network operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on compliance requirements
  • Develop positions on emerging regulatory issues in satellite communications
  • Engage with external stakeholders including industry groups and regulators
  • Track global regulatory trends affecting satellite broadband services
  • Support spectrum negotiation strategies with incumbent users
  • Ensure policy positions reflect technical capabilities and constraints
  • Assist in preparing senior leadership for regulatory discussions
  • Maintain awareness of orbital debris mitigation regulations
  • Contribute to long-term regulatory roadmaps for constellation expansion
  • Work with international partners on regulatory alignment
  • Provide input on regulatory risks in business planning

Nice to Have

  • Juris Doctor or advanced technical degree
  • Direct experience with ITU World Radiocommunication Conferences
  • Prior work with satellite constellation regulatory strategies
  • Familiarity with FCC licensing processes for satellite systems
  • Experience in spectrum negotiation with government or commercial entities
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions
  • Track record of successful spectrum coordination outcomes
