Addepar is hiring a Sr. Sales Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority during the sales process, partnering closely with Account Executives to guide financial services clients from initial interest to solution adoption. Your expertise will shape how prospects understand and experience the platform, ensuring their unique business requirements are met through tailored demonstrations and technical validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, translating client needs into actionable product demonstrations
  • Design and deploy customized demo environments using prospect data to showcase real-world platform value
  • Lead technical presentations for executive stakeholders, clearly articulating competitive advantages and technical differentiation
  • Support Proof of Concepts, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with client infrastructure
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including Product, Data, and Professional Services—to align resources with client engagements
  • Assist in responding to RFPs and RFIs, and contribute to Statements of Work and budget planning
  • Document and share best practices to strengthen the sales engineering function across the organization
  • Advise existing clients on technical capabilities and roadmap developments to support expansion opportunities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years in financial technology, with experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or platform deployment
  • Proven background in SaaS environments, particularly within financial services or investment management
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong grasp of investment management workflows and data structures
  • Experience with API integrations, Data Lakehouse architectures, and modern database systems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple client pipelines simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel as needed, with short notice (20% or more)

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with team locations in New York City, Salt Lake City, London, Edinburgh, Pune, Dubai, Geneva, and São Paulo. The position requires flexibility for travel to support client meetings and internal collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary ranges from $146,000 to $182,000, with additional components including equity, performance bonus, and comprehensive health, wellness, and paid time off benefits. The company supports reasonable accommodations and is committed to inclusive hiring practices.
