The City of Fort Worth is hiring a Sr. Professional Engineer to join the dynamic team spearheading our Vision Zero Safety Action Plan. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate investigations into traffic safety concerns and lead the implementation of infrastructure solutions to protect our community.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership and supervision to a team of graduate engineers and engineering technicians.
- Develop safety countermeasure concepts and coordinate with contractors and department teams to implement safety projects.
- Perform project management, including developing, managing, and controlling scopes, schedules, and budgets in support of the team’s Annual Work Plan.
- Utilize the VueWorks Enterprise Asset Management System to plan, track, and maintain accurate records of work performed on transportation assets.
- Perform procurement for and development of neighborhood safety contracts, serving as the compliance manager.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience, of which two years is in performing traffic safety studies or implementing traffic safety countermeasures.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. (If licensed in another state, continued employment is contingent upon obtaining Texas registration within six months of employment).
- A valid Driver's License.
Nice to Have
- Experience applying the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Capacity Manual, and AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets to safety projects.
- Experience applying the National Association of City Transportation Officials Design Guidelines to safety projects.
- Experience performing safety studies and implementing safety projects.
