Eli Lilly Canada is hiring a Sr. Principal Process Engineer - Small Molecule (NOT REMOTE - NEW SITE)

Team

Part of a multidisciplinary team focused on process innovation and technology transfer in pharmaceutical manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical development for small molecule process engineering projects
  • Design and optimize scalable manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process robustness
  • Support technology transfer from lab to production scale
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues in manufacturing
  • Develop process control strategies and documentation
  • Conduct risk assessments for new and existing processes
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in process efficiency

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering
  • Proven track record in small molecule pharmaceutical development
  • Strong understanding of chemical process scale-up
  • Experience with process safety and hazard analysis
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and compliance
  • Proficiency in process modeling and simulation tools
  • Project management skills with ability to lead teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in engineering or physical sciences
  • Experience in green chemistry or sustainable manufacturing
  • Knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes
  • Leadership in multi-site or global projects
  • Experience with regulatory submissions

Location

  • Position located at a new manufacturing site
  • On-site presence required; no remote option available
