Gilead Sciences, Inc. is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Technician I in Edmonton. This role is central to our mission of creating a healthier world. You will work in a rotating shift environment, operating industrial equipment to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients and their intermediates in strict accordance with cGMP standards.
What You'll Do
- Document all aspects of operations in associated batch records, log books, and forms in a tidy and legible fashion.
- Accurately record time spent on each project or task.
- Adhere consistently to cGMPs by following written instructions in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Master Batch Records (MBRs).
- Perform specific tasks on reactors, filtration equipment and dryers with minimal supervision.
- Clean manufacturing areas, including walls, ceilings and floors.
- Clean and assemble equipment for production.
- Understand and perform daily checks required in the plant.
- Work cooperatively with other team members under the guidance of a Team Leader.
- Interact with department members to ensure production proceeds as scheduled.
- Carry out routine work with only basic instructions, and new assignments with detailed instructions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot routine problems.
- Ensure that all equipment, tools and surrounding plant are safe to operate.
- Comply with all safety-related procedures and practices personally and in area by following P-codes and wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Regularly attend Shift Safety Meetings and bring any safety concerns to the Sr. Team Leader or Manufacturing Manager.
- Read and understand Batch Records and related Hazard Data Packages for assigned processes.
- Regularly inspect the work area and immediately notify supervision of any deviation, incident or safety concern.
- Ensure that the immediate work areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and house-keeping at all times.
- Regularly attend in-house training and document same in their personal Training record.
What We're Looking For
- A High school diploma and 3+ years of experience; or an Associates degree and 2+ years of experience.
Nice to Have
- Power Engineering Class V certification is a plus.
