Responsibilities
- Enhance ISP performance for road and cabin-facing cameras using field data, prioritizing image stability and sharpness in dynamic, high-vibration settings.
- Develop automation scripts to detect defects and adjust ISP settings for correction.
- Engage directly with customers to support best-in-class product development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Firmware, Engineering Program Management, New Product Introduction, and Hardware leadership to make informed technical decisions.
- Mentor and share knowledge with fellow engineering team members.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners such as JDMs, certification labs, and consultants.
- Support the Lead Architect in tuning core ISP components like Auto Exposure, Noise Reduction, Sharpening, and Color Mapping for RGB and RGBIR sensors.
- Refine Auto-Exposure weighting and shutter speed logic to reduce motion blur and rolling shutter artifacts during vehicle movement.
- Tune Electronic Image Stabilization and gyro integration to ensure smooth video and consistent frames across varying road conditions.
- Create Python and MATLAB scripts to derive objective image quality metrics such as MTF, SNR, and Dynamic Range from large-scale drive data.
- Design and maintain internal tools to track and visualize changes in ISP parameters across tuning iterations.
- Include stabilization performance and motion vector analysis in visualization tools to document tuning outcomes.
- Maintain and manage the version-controlled image quality database across firmware releases.
- Ensure that improvements in driver monitoring systems do not negatively impact stabilization or license plate readability at high speeds.
- Automate the generation of image quality assessment reports.
- Incorporate 'Vibration Robustness' scoring into performance summaries for architectural review.
- Oversee JDM partners in the design, validation, certification, and production of high-quality imaging systems.

IQ teams in US and Taiwan, supported by Supply Chain, laboratories, JDM design resources, and external consultants. Collaborates with Product Management, EE, PD, FW, EPM, NPI, and Hardware leadership.
