The American Cancer Society is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will partner with FPA Business Partners and senior leaders to provide financial insights, strategic analysis, and decision-making support. You will act as a bridge between the finance team and specific departments to align financial strategies with operational goals, supporting our mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
What You'll Do
- Develop enterprise knowledge and partner with business & FPA Partners to provide relevant, timely financial information and guide key business decisions.
- Support the planning and forecasting process by preparing financial input, assisting with budget development, and training stakeholders on budgeting tools.
- Prepare tailored financial reports to ensure transparency and clarity in communication for specific audiences.
- Support requests for financial information related to funding, grants, state/federal filings, surveys, and licenses.
- Ensure key performance indicators are measured, presenting analysis to explain trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop reports to regularly monitor and assess financial and operational performance across key metrics.
- Manage the financial segment coding structure, assessing impacts and ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and financial systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, systems, and processes, including training business partners.
- Develop financial models to evaluate business cases, investments, and strategic initiatives, supporting decisions with data-driven insights.
- Perform ad hoc financial work and continually identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase revenues, and drive more dollars toward the mission.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting, financial modeling, and forecasting.
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Clear communication skills for conveying financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry and ability to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work across various departments and levels.
- Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills to deal creatively with multiple/complex situations.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple/complex problems.
- Strong detail orientation and excellent ability to implement quality control processes.
- Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to discuss quantitative findings in easy-to-understand terms.
- Consistent ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Energetic, organized self-starter who works under limited supervision with a strong customer service orientation.

- Salary range: $81,000 to $95,000 annual.
