About the Role
The contractor will lead planning efforts across the ecommerce platform, focusing on data-driven decision-making to align inventory levels with consumer demand and business growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Analyze historical sales data to identify trends and inform future inventory decisions
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for online product offerings
- Collaborate with merchandising and supply chain teams to align stock levels with projected sales
- Monitor inventory turnover and recommend adjustments to prevent overstock or stockouts
- Evaluate product performance using key metrics such as sell-through rate and order velocity
- Support pricing and promotional strategies with planning insights
- Produce regular reporting on planning KPIs for leadership review
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy through process refinement
- Coordinate with operations to ensure fulfillment readiness based on forecasted demand
- Assess the impact of new product launches on inventory requirements
- Track market trends and seasonal fluctuations to adjust planning models
- Utilize analytics tools to generate planning insights and visualizations
- Ensure data integrity across planning systems and reporting dashboards
- Provide input on supplier lead times and reorder points
- Evaluate vendor performance in relation to delivery and inventory accuracy
- Assist in the development of planning templates and forecasting tools
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ecommerce platform capabilities and limitations
- Support month-end and quarter-end planning cycles with timely data analysis
- Contribute to scenario planning for business expansion or product line changes
- Ensure compliance with internal controls related to inventory planning
- Work closely with data analysts to refine forecasting algorithms
- Translate business objectives into actionable inventory strategies
- Respond to ad-hoc planning requests from cross-functional stakeholders
- Document planning processes and assumptions for audit and training purposes
