NETGEAR is seeking a Sr. Broadcast Systems Engineer to be a strategic, customer-facing leader within our growing Broadcast business. You will combine deep expertise in IP networking and broadcast workflows with commercial awareness to support partners, influence solution design, and drive market adoption, serving as the technical face of NETGEAR in the broadcast ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Serve as NETGEAR's senior technical authority for broadcast and live production environments.
- Develop and maintain technical integrations with leading OEMs (e.g., Riedel, EVS, Clear-Com, Panasonic, Grass Valley).
- Design, validate, and support IP-based broadcast workflows including AES67, Dante, Ravenna, ST 2110, NDI, IPMX, and PTP-sensitive environments.
- Architect and maintain lab environments, testbeds, and demos used for validation, enablement, and customer engagement.
- Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Alliances to support strategic accounts and drive early design influence.
- Deliver technical enablement for internal SE teams and partners through training, documentation, and best practices.
- Provide direct field feedback to Product and Engineering on switching, multicast, QoS, redundancy, and PTP performance.
- Represent NETGEAR at industry events such as NAB, IBC, and InfoComm, supporting demos, content, and thought leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Strong IP networking foundation combined with hands-on broadcast engineering experience.
- Expertise with professional broadcast audio and IP video technologies: AES67, Dante, Ravenna, SMPTE ST 2110.
- Expertise with multicast, IGMP, QoS, and PTP.
- Experience supporting production facilities, intercom systems, OB trucks, post-production, or enterprise studios.
- Exposure to partner engagement, business development, or technical sales.
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
- Requires frequent travel (up to 60%), including short-notice and international travel.
Nice to Have
- Experience with broadcast or professional A/V manufacturers, system integrators, or production facilities.
- Familiarity with OEM ecosystems such as Riedel, Clear-Com, EVS, Panasonic, Grass Valley.
- Experience with IP orchestration or monitoring platforms (e.g., TAG, Nevion, Evertz).
Technical Stack
- Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, VLANs, multicast routing, IGMP behavior, QoS, and redundancy models.
- Real-time media transport and timing architectures (PTP boundary and transparent clocks).
- Broadcast control and orchestration platforms (e.g., NMOS, Evertz MAGNUM, Nevion VideoIPath, EVS Cerebrum, Riedel Director).
- End-to-end design and troubleshooting of broadcast audio/video networks.
- Monitoring and analysis tools (packet capture, PTP analyzers, telemetry).
- Automation, APIs, or scripting (REST, Python).
