We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in Senior Living accounting for MezTal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across multiple senior living communities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role requires hands-on experience in multi-entity accounting, complex journal entries, resident billing, and a solid understanding of Senior Living operations, which involve higher complexity than standard residential or multifamily portfolios.

What You'll Do

Perform full-cycle accounting for multiple Senior Living properties (including AR, AP, GL, accruals, and financial statements).
Prepare and post journal entries related to monthly close, management fees, payroll allocations, utilities, and intercompany transactions.
Manage and reconcile resident billing, move-ins/move-outs, and care-level adjustments.
Review and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for accuracy.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
Collaborate with property and regional teams to maintain accurate property-level financials.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support audits by preparing detailed schedules and reconciliations.
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
Train and mentor junior accountants, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to accounting standards.
