Advanced Health Care of Albuquerque is looking for a Speech Therapist to provide physical therapy services to residents as ordered by the physician. Your work will prevent avoidable deterioration and help residents maintain their highest practicable level of functioning.
What You'll Do
- Assess each resident’s functional abilities considering capabilities, tasks, and environments.
- Participate in completing designated sections of initial and comprehensive assessments and individualized care plans.
- Utilize evidence-based research ethically and appropriately in the physical therapy process.
- Recommend additional consultations and treatments as needed.
- Develop, document, and implement physical therapy intervention based on evaluation, resident goals, evidence, and clinical reasoning with physician approval.
- Document changes in resident’s performance and modify or discontinue intervention plans as appropriate.
- Select therapy activities to fit resident’s needs and capabilities and alter treatment programs as necessary.
- Monitor and evaluate resident’s performance in therapy activities and provide encouragement.
- Select, measure, document, and interpret expected and achieved outcomes related to resident’s functional abilities.
- Prepare and implement a discontinuation or transition plan based on resident’s needs, goals, performance, and follow-up resources.
- Instruct residents, families, and caregivers in home programs, basic living skills, and the care and use of adaptive equipment.
- Supervise clinical services provided by Physical Therapy Assistants, students, and Rehabilitation Aides.
- Inservice staff members and caregivers as needed regarding physical therapy services.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program.
- Successfully completed required supervised fieldwork experience.
- Passed all examinations for physical therapists.
- Possess a current and unencumbered license, registration, or certification as required by law.
- Possess working knowledge of Physical Therapy practices and application of pertinent principles.
- Abide by the Code of Ethics of the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
- Must maintain a current license at all times throughout employment.

- 0-5 years of experience.
