About the Role
The professional will deliver speech and language services to children using teletherapy platforms, conduct evaluations, create individualized treatment plans, and monitor client progress in coordination with caregivers and school staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct remote assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Diagnose communication challenges in pediatric clients
- Develop individualized therapy plans based on evaluation results
- Deliver virtual speech therapy sessions using secure telehealth platforms
- Monitor and document client progress over time
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to support therapy goals
- Work alongside educational teams to align therapy with academic needs
- Prepare and maintain accurate clinical records
- Administer standardized and informal assessment tools
- Modify treatment approaches based on client response
- Provide feedback to families on client development
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Ensure compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations
- Use evidence-based practices in therapy delivery
- Support transition planning for school-age clients
- Assist in developing individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Maintain licensure and certification requirements
- Engage in professional development activities
- Respond to client and family inquiries promptly
- Coordinate scheduling with clients and caregivers
Nice to Have
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with specific childhood disorders such as autism or apraxia
- Training in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- Experience in early intervention programs
- Knowledge of state-specific special education guidelines
