AbbVie is seeking a Specialist, EHS Staff to join our team. Under the direction of the EHS manager, you will provide guidance on personnel EHS matters, implement programs to ensure regulatory compliance, and help foster a positive safety culture. You will be responsible for developing policies, conducting hazard assessments, and creating training materials for both manufacturing and R&D functions.
What You'll Do
- Assist in developing and implementing strategic programs, plans, and policies to protect personnel, facilities, and the environment.
- Interpret EHS regulations and corporate standards, ensuring compliance and implementing programs accordingly.
- Execute EHS initiatives including hazard identification, risk assessment, high hazard controls (e.g., Lockout Tagout, confined space), and ergonomic analysis.
- Conduct and analyze injury investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training on topics such as hazard communication, contractor safety, and emergency response.
What We're Looking For
- A High School Diploma plus 10 years of relevant EHS experience, OR an Associate Degree with Advanced Safety Specialist Certification plus 8 years, OR a Bachelor’s Degree (EHS, Engineering, Chemistry) plus 3 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, and interacting with regulatory agencies.
- A proven track record working within a regulatory environment.
- Ability to develop practical standards and policies, with strong technical writing and business communication skills.
Nice to Have
- A professional EHS or Engineering certification.
