American Airlines is seeking a Specialist, Aircraft Records - Operations to join our Tech Ops team. You will be responsible for the active aircraft, engine, APU, landing gear, and component configuration and maintenance status within our maintenance tracking systems, ensuring all planning and scheduling satisfies FAA and OEM airworthiness requirements for a major airline.
What You'll Do
- Process and review maintenance transactions and documentation for accuracy and completeness in Tech Ops systems (SCEPTRE, System Time Control, AirVault) for active aircraft.
- Manage part and task configuration for active aircraft, generating internal instructions for ongoing maintenance in SCEPTRE, including new aircraft deliveries and modifications.
- Implement SCEPTRE controls and procedures requested by Engineering, Maintenance Programs, and Maintenance Control to satisfy OEM and FAA requirements.
- Maintain daily tracking of active major assemblies (engines, APUs, landing gear, thrust reversers) for shop maintenance, part changes, and tasks, including lease units.
- Verify accuracy of key information completed by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians for regulatory or safety tasks in Tech Ops systems on active aircraft.
- Correct discrepancies by problem-solving to ensure Tech Ops systems reflect actual configuration and maintenance status of active aircraft and components.
- Manage replacement of FAA Airworthiness Certificates and Aircraft registrations on active aircraft.
- Maintain Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) registrations on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for active aircraft.
- Collaborate with Tech Ops partner departments on projects and initiatives, including Maintenance Programs, Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Quality Assurance, and Line and Base Maintenance stations.
- Engage suppliers and vendors to resolve part maintenance discrepancies and documentation for proof of compliance on active aircraft components.
- Be available on call 24/7 for some occasional duties.
- Be available for weekend duty or night shift coverage in some roles.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
Nice to Have
- Associates degree or higher in a technical or aviation-related field
- 3 years of relevant experience
- 5 years of relevant experience with airlines in lieu of an associate's degree
- Experience with other aircraft maintenance systems such as SAP, MXI, Trax, Maintenix, FlightDocs, Traxxall
- Aircraft maintenance records experience at a major airline
- Lean Office or Lean Manufacturing training
- Six Sigma certification or training
