About the Role

Educational Service District 112, WA seeks a dedicated Special Education Paraeducator for a position within the Waitsburg School District. In this critical role, you will directly support students with disabilities, implementing IEP or IFSP goals across various school settings. You will work alongside a Special Education Teacher to create an effective and inclusive learning environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Special Education Teacher with lesson plan preparation, one-on-one and small group instruction, and classroom management.
  • Supervise students and provide positive behavior management support consistent with IEP/IFSP goals.
  • Collect data, report on student progress, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
  • Attend to students' physical needs, including moving, positioning, and assisting with personal hygiene.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Participate as a member of the education team and may attend parent conferences.

What We're Looking For

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • You must meet one of the following educational requirements: an Associate's Degree; 48 semester or 72 quarter credits from an accredited college; a passing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment; a passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; or a score of 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
  • Commitment to meet Washington State Core Competencies for paraeducators within three years of employment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a special education classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of programs and services for students with disabilities.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Special Education Teacher and function as an integral member of the instructional team.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Hourly pay range: $21.27 - $26.31.

This is an onsite position located within the Waitsburg School District.
