EY is looking for a SOX Manager to join our Consulting Enterprise Risk team. This is a remote, client-facing role where you will focus on Internal Audit and SOX compliance for globally recognized brands, managing engagements and leveraging emerging technologies to build better audit solutions.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of Staff and Seniors across locations to deliver full SOX engagements, including scoping, testing, and reporting.
- Provide guidance on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance assessments and lead control rationalization or re-design for business processes.
- Evaluate control gaps, provide remediation recommendations, and track progress.
- Define budgets, track actuals against them, and handle resource planning and scheduling.
- Independently manage client process owners and meet quality guidelines within established timelines and budgets.
- Anticipate engagement risks, escalate issues timely, and design area-specific transition plans.
- Spearhead analytics, benchmarking, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Execute client relationship management, holding conversations with senior executives and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Partner with onshore teams to understand client business and industry trends.
- Assist Senior Managers/Directors in account management and pursue high-impact opportunities.
- Contribute to new solution development based on industry trends and client needs.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing discussions, contribute to thought leadership, and support RFP/RFI responses.
- Support innovation initiatives leveraging emerging technologies like Robotics, AI, and Advanced Analytics.
- Collaborate across service lines, sharing knowledge to guide business decisions.
- Monitor industry news and trends to suggest potential risks and improvements.
- Manage engagement budgets and ensure compliance with quality and risk management procedures.
- Display teamwork, integrity, and leadership while setting team goals and responsibilities.
- Utilize technology to learn, innovate, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery.
- Conduct workshops and technical training sessions for team members and contribute to learning & development.
What We're Looking For
- More than 7 years of experience in risks & controls at a “Big 4” or professional firm, or in industry.
- More than 4 years of specific experience in SOX and internal controls.
- Strong understanding of the SOX and COSO frameworks.
- Strong academic history with a degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Leader and team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong multi-project management skills and ability to prioritize deliverables effectively.
- Skilled at collaborating with, motivating, and guiding high-performance teams.
- Cognitive problem-solving capabilities and the ability to handle complex situations calmly.
- Exceptional command of spoken and written English.
- Globally mobile and flexible to travel to onsite locations.
- Highly analytical, organized, and meticulous consulting skills.
- Proficient in MS-Office Suite and data analysis & validation.
