Winnow Solutions is hiring a Software Test Engineer Intern to improve the quality and reliability of our products. You will develop automated testing tools and infrastructure, working closely with engineering and quality teams to validate our computer vision technology and supporting software.
What You'll Do
- Develop automated testing tools and infrastructure to improve product quality and reliability.
- Design and implement systems to validate computer vision technology and supporting software.
- Build tools, prototypes, and automated tests to verify system behavior in real-world scenarios.
- Develop automation to simulate food waste events for the Winnow Vision computer vision system.
What We're Looking For
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of programming principles and data structures.
- Familiarity with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, JavaScript).
- Genuine interest in AI, IoT, and modern cloud-based architectures.
- Curiosity about learning how large-scale, real-world systems are built and deployed.
- Excited to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proactive mindset with initiative to problem solve and take ownership for your work.
- Enjoy collaborating with colleagues and eager to learn and grow.
Technical Stack
- Languages: Java, Go, Python, JavaScript (VueJS, React)
- Frameworks: Spring Boot, Apache Camel
- Data: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL), Amazon Redshift
- APIs & Messaging: REST APIs, Kafka, MQTT
- Infrastructure: Docker, AWS-based services (Lambdas, ECS, EKS)
- Edge Devices: IoT ‘smart’ edge devices (Android tablets / Nvidia TX2), Linux-based embedded OS
- CI/CD & Tooling: Jenkins, SonarQube, Terraform, NewRelic
Team & Environment
Work closely with engineering and quality teams in an Agile environment.
