S&P Global is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test II to play a key role in building and executing test solutions across Web, Windows, Mobile, API, and Services platforms. The role emphasizes reducing time to market without compromising quality through automation, innovation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a SAFE Agile environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases (both manual and automated) across UI, API, and data layers.
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies and work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
- Utilize Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) principles throughout the testing process, from requirement analysis to test closure.
- Develop and implement testing processes for new and existing products to effectively meet client requirements.
- Conduct functional, system, regression, and exploratory testing to ensure software quality.
- Monitor debugging results and adapt test strategies as necessary.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Copado Robotic Testing, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Validate data accuracy and consistency using SQL or other database languages.
- Collaborate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and code reviews with a focus on quality.
- Identify defects early in the development cycle and document issues, test results, and coverage gaps clearly.
- Continuously research and implement new testing tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide timely and accurate quality assurance metrics to stakeholders.
- Experience in API automation and manual testing using Postman or other suitable tools.
- Utilize AI to accelerate test development and improve testing quality.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in software testing or development with a solid understanding of STLC, coding, and debugging.
- Strong knowledge of Agile processes and Scrum practices.
- Proficiency in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Proficiency in SQL or any database language for test data setup and validation.
- Hands-on experience in test planning, test case design, and defect management.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C#, or similar.
- Experience with test automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Selenium, Robotic Framework) across application layers.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in refactoring and extending automation frameworks.
- Experience with Salesforce
- Familiarity with Copado Robotic Testing.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
- Certifications such as Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or ISTQB Certified Tester.
