Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead and develop teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers, focusing on building high-quality capabilities with modern technology. This role involves ensuring adherence to platform architecture, driving technical strategy, and managing resources to meet strategic objectives in technology engineering.
What You'll Do
- Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk
- Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release
- Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies
- Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
- Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
- Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction
- Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity
- Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements
- Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering
- Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development to have the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience

- Experience with system integrations (APIs, workflow platforms, document management systems)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP – architecture-level knowledge)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing
- Experience with observability, performance tuning, and secure coding practices
- Good to have: M365, Legal Platform Transformation
- Experience with Product Operating Model / Agile Teams / Multi-location
- Practical experience implementing or managing AI/ML or GenAI solutions in enterprise systems
- Experience with embedding/vector search for document intelligence
- Experience with AI-enabled knowledge management or automation
- Experience with NLP and LLM-based applications
- Strong understanding of AI governance, data privacy, and responsible AI principles
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to bridge legal, technical, and executive audiences
- Track record of influencing without authority and driving cross-functional alignment
- Experience with Legal Tech platforms such as Onit, NetDocuments, iManage, or similar
- Exposure to litigation systems, eDiscovery, contract lifecycle management (CLM)
- Experience scaling platforms globally or across regions
- Certifications in Agile, Cloud Architecture, or AI-related domains
