onX is hiring a Software Engineering Manager III - Growth

Responsibilities

  • Guide the planning, prioritization, and execution of experiments focused on enhancing core growth metrics while managing trade-offs across teams and organizational goals.
  • Supervise multiple direct reports by establishing clear performance standards, identifying top performers, resolving performance issues promptly, and reinforcing impactful contributions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for intricate, multi-team challenges, making informed decisions that influence workflows across departments while aligning with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Enhance the speed and rigor of experimentation by creating frameworks, timelines, and evaluation criteria, especially for new initiatives lacking existing guidelines.
  • Lead initiatives across functions by aligning stakeholders around common objectives, tracking progress, and adapting leadership style based on project ownership and context.
  • Apply sound judgment in recruitment to assemble a resilient and scalable engineering team prepared for future technical and operational demands.
  • Track and communicate key growth-related performance indicators, delivering regular insights to executive leadership with actionable recommendations tied to strategic goals.
  • Use data analysis to uncover trends and insights that inform iterative improvements and guide functional decision-making.
  • Build and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting systems to monitor growth metrics effectively.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by raising expectations for idea quality and execution, encouraging test-and-learn methodologies across teams.
  • Keep pace with evolving industry trends, tools, and methodologies, occasionally shaping company strategy through insights gained from technical and people leadership roles.
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including executives, technical teams, and cross-functional partners.
