FanDuel is hiring a Software Engineer to join our Sportsbook domain, building the application that delivers a best-in-class experience to our customers. You will be responsible for translating defined designs into secure, stable, and maintainable code while continuously working to improve our architecture and development processes.

What You'll Do

• Turn defined designs into secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects.
• Work on the FanDuel Sportsbook application to provide a best-in-class customer experience.
• Write clear, scalable, and high-quality code.
• Continuously improve architecture and processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Own parts of the product and technology, becoming a subject matter expert.
• Write simple, extendable code following standards and best practices and test it thoroughly.
• Help balance customer requirements with team requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, team planning, and ticket/metric/COE reviews.
• Take on projects and make software enhancements that improve team software and processes.
• Work to resolve the root cause of complex problems, leaving software better and easier to maintain.
• Estimate stories/tasks accurately and deliver them on time.
• Keep up to date with market standards and open-source frameworks.

What We're Looking For

• 2 or more years of software development experience creating and maintaining mobile applications with React and React Native.
• Knowledge of native application development, such as Kotlin or Swift.
• A fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in working with GitOps Patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling, preferably Jenkins or BuildKite.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of AWS with API gateway, workflow orchestration, lambda, and serverless applications.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience working with SQL databases.
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Familiarity with git, GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and OpenAPI.
• Proficiency in translating requirements into design and developing applications.
• Understanding of containers (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and best practices.

Nice to Have

• A degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Salary range: $116,000 - $152,250 USD.
